SPECIAL WORKFORCE WEDNESDAY SPOTLIGHT
October 28, 2026 – National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)
In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Career Services is partnering with our Accessibility Resources Department to host a Workforce Wednesday focused on connecting students with disabilities to inclusive employers who promote equitable access to meaningful employment opportunities. In addition to participating employers, several community resource agencies will be on-site to share information about services and support available to individuals with disabilities.

Employers interested in attending on October 28 should be organizations that actively welcome and support candidates with disabilities and are interested in discussing employment opportunities with this population.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

To reserve your spot(s), visit Career Hub by Symplicity. On the left navigation menu, select Events, then Workforce Wednesdays, and click the blue Request New Workforce Wednesday Session button. Enter your preferred dates and wait for a confirmation email regarding your approved date(s).

As part of our Workforce Wednesday experience, employers are asked to post their current job and internship opportunities in Career Hub prior to attending. Students frequently review Career Hub before connecting with employers, and having active opportunities posted helps them learn more about your organization, prepare meaningful questions, and identify positions that align with their interests and career goals.

Employers interested in participating in the October 28th NDEAM-focused event are encouraged to indicate that date when submitting their request.

Spaces are limited to 6 employers each week, so I encourage you to secure your spot early.

PRO TIP!
Many of our classes are 8 weeks long. If you would like to attend twice during the semester, I recommend selecting one date during the first 8-week term and another during the second 8-week term. This allows you to connect with a broader group of students, as some students do not begin classes until the second 8-week session. The second 8-week term begins October 19th.
